From the Principal

We trust that this newsletter finds you well and continuing to grow in your understanding and passion for Christian education. Institute staff have been involved in State conferences this year in Victoria and South Australia (some resources can be found below) and will be participating in conferences this month in Northern Territory, Tasmania and Western Australia. As well as specific Institute input delegates are always able to use their participation in these conferences towards a postgraduate qualification with the Institute. Participants at the recent Developing Leaders’ Conference have also been encouraged to use this event towards postgraduate study.

Sad news

Joy Fowler
Many of you will have heard of the passing of Joy Fowler recently. Joy’s husband, Stuart has been instrumental in the strength of CEN and the National Institute for Christian Education’s intellectual capital for the last 50 or so years.  Joy was not only Stuart’s wife but also his partner in ministry since their time in missionary service in Africa. Until recently they spent several months each year in Kenya and other African countries. Joy’s administrative skills complemented Stuart’s academic prowess and they made a great team.  Geoff Beech and Ken Dickens represented the Institute at the funeral 8 July. Please keep Stuart in your prayers as he grieves and adjusts to living alone.

Harry Burggraaf
We still grieve the loss of Harry Burrgraaf. He was both a friend of the Institute and made a significant contribution by developing resources and delivering courses. Below is the video of the dedication made by Ken Dickens recently in Victoria.
