We have a new law – and a moderate headache!   On 26 June, the Australian Education Bill (2013) was passed into law.The way it has been done makes the new “Better Schools” funding model a done deal in terms of structure. The Regulations that will sit alongside the new Act are yet to be finalised (and still seem some way off). This means that the implementation arrangements for the new funding plan and the specific details of the calculation for each school are still frustratingly unavailable (because they are dependent on the Regulations being finalised).   While we have certainty in one respect, there is still some way to go in terms of knowing what your school’s government income will be in 2014 and beyond.
